DescriptionThe Pearl of Death (Universal, 1944). Folded, Very Fine-. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Based on the story The Six Napoleons by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, this film finds Sherlock Holmes attempting to locate the Borgia pearl before the Hoxton Creeper kills another owner of a Napoleonic statuette where the pearl is hidden. Rondo Hatton appeared for the first time as the stalking murderer, The Creeper, a character who would join the pantheon of Universal monsters along with the likes of The Mummy and Frankenstein. Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce will forever be remembered as the quintessential Sherlock Holmes and his trusted sidekick, Dr. Watson, both appearing on this eerie, unsettling one sheet. In highly presentable condition, the poster has mild fold separations, small border tears, and a few minor stains at the bottom edge. There is some cellophane tape on the verso. Folded, Very Fine-.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
