DescriptionThe New Frontier (Republic, 1935). Fine/Very Fine. Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").
John Wayne cut his acting teeth in quite a few B Westerns for Republic Pictures. In this outing, he gets recruited as a sheriff to clean up the town of Frontier, Oklahoma after his father (the former sheriff) is shot in the back. The B Westerns had predictable and routine plots, but it didn't matter to the legions of kids who enjoyed every action-packed minute in their Saturday matinee line-up. With a stunning finish with a night-time shootout between Wayne and the villain, this picture did not disappoint. Signs of use include slight edge wear, pinholes, minor corner bends, and unobtrusive smudges. The card has some faint foxing, as well as minute burn marks. Fine/Very Fine.
Estimate: $400 - $800.
