    Description

The Mummy (Universal International, 1959). One Sheet (27" X 41") Joseph Smith Artwork.
With the release of The Curse of Frankenstein in 1957, and The Horror of Dracula in 1958, Britain's Hammer Film Studios single-handedly revived the moribund horror genre, which had lain fallow since just after World War II. Following the enormous success of their first two monster films, Hammer next took on The Mummy, creating a classy color remake of the Boris Karloff original. Starring Peter Cushing as archaeologist John Banning, and Christopher Lee as Kharis, the bandage-wrapped title character, the film was another triumph for Hammer. This one sheet has some signs of usage, including light edge and fold wear, slight fold separations, mild creases, and a few minor nicks. There are pinholes in the borders in the background, and the poster has small stains in the borders and in Yvonne Furneaux's face. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.

    Estimate: $400 - $800.
