    The Mummy's Ghost (Universal, 1944). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27.25" X 40.75").
After the success of the original The Mummy in 1932, and highly profitable runs of other sequels to horror features, Universal embarked on a new Mummy series in 1940. With Tom Tyler taking over the role Boris Karloff made famous and The Mummy's Hand followed. In 1942, Tyler was out as Universal wanted to promote their new horror star, Lon Chaney Jr., and cast him as the Mummy Kharis in the three films to follow. This one sheet features a wonderful image of Chaney as the Mummy with a great title treatment overlaying an Egyptian sarcophagus, as well as a fantastic full-body shot of leading lady and pin-up model Ramsay Ames. Exceptional restoration has rendered many of the poster's previous issues unnoticeable, having corrected slight edge and fold wear, mild fold separations, thin creases, and pinholes. Also addressed were a few small chips and tears in the borders, as well as some paper loss in the right border that extended slightly into Chaney's finger. The borders have been mostly airbrushed. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
