The Monster and the Girl (Paramount, 1941). Folded, Very Good/Fine. Six Sheet (79" X 80").
Without a doubt, this first time offer from Heritage, this six sheet depicts one of the greatest images of a Gorilla kidnapping a woman. These images are so popular, they almost form a sub-genre of their own. When Scot Webster (Phillip Terry) confronts gangster W.S. Bruhl (Paul Lukas) for attacking his sister Susan (Ellen Drew), he is framed for murder. Webster is found guilty and eventually put to death and that's when his troubles really begin. A mad scientist transplants his brain into a gorilla and the Webster-Ape hunts down Bruhl for revenge. Starring Ellen Drew, Robert Paige, Paul Lukas, Joseph Calleia, Phillip Terry. Directed by Stuart Heisler. This spectacular poster has some dark toning on the verso along some of the fold lines that slightly bleeds through to the front (primarily within the credits area). There is some paper missing in the green background on the right and also down in the Paramount logo and there many tiny tears and stains within the borders. From the Theaters of Old Detroit collection.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
