The Mole People (Universal International, 1956). Three Sheet (41" X 78.5").
John Agar and Hugh Beaumont star as archaeologists that stumble across a race of albino Sumerians living deep under the Earth, whose ancestors fled the disastrous floods in ancient Mesopotamia. Their primary source of food is mushrooms that grow without sunlight, harvested by humanoid mole men they keep as slaves. The Sumerians believe the scientists are messengers from their goddess, Ishtar, but this notion is quickly dissolved when one of them is killed by a mole. Cynthia Patrick plays Adad, a young tribe member with Caucasian skin, who is alienated by the albinos for her "mark of darkness." Artist Reynold Brown provides incredible imagery of the rebellious Mole People, as Agar and Patrick clutch each other in terror. A superb piece of 1950s sci-fi nostalgia! Linenbacked, the poster has had light restoration to address chips and tears near the folds, pinholes in the corners, a missing top left corner, and misfolds. A tape stain in the left border, a small nick in the Mole's head, and small tears in the borders and credits can still be detected. Fine+ on Linen.
