The Miracle Rider (Mascot, 1935). Stock One Sheet & Chapter One Sheets (2) (27" X 41").
Matinee idol Tom Mix made his last film appearance in this fifteen-chapter serial as a Texas Ranger, who defends the local Indians against mercenaries illegally mining on the reservation. Studio boss Nat Levine paid Mix more than most Mascot films had as their entire budget ($40K), but it was worth it. Levine made so much money on the serial that he was able to combine several companies into Republic Pictures. Featured is a general stock one sheet for the entire serial, as well as a couple of one sheets for Chapter Two -- "The Firebird Strikes" and Chapter 3 -- "The Flying Knife." The posters all have mild tears and chips in the borders and folds. The chapter one sheets have undergone some restoration for these issues, as well as fold wear and pinholes in the borders. The stock one sheet has a reattached bottom left corner, and the chapter one sheets were once mounted to a board and have paper lifts on the verso. They also still show dust shadows, unobtrusive stains in the borders, and the chapter 3 one sheet has some small cuts through the linen in the upper left border. The stock one sheet has never been folded and is backed on paper, while the two chapter one sheets are on linen that has been trimmed to the border. Fine+, Two on Linen, One on Paper.
