    Description

The Mark of Zorro (20th Century Fox, 1940). One Sheet (27.25" X 41") Style A.
It's been nearly a decade since Heritage has presented this elusive style A one sheet, and it was worth the wait. A poster of this collecting magnitude rarely surfaces, especially with such pleasing color and high presentability. Tyrone Power reprises the role first brought to the screen by Douglas Fairbanks twenty years earlier, and many critics thought that Power bested Fairbanks -- perhaps not in lithe athleticism but with an agile tongue, Power was as quick with a one liner as he was with his sword. Basil Rathbone relishes his role as the evil assistant to the governor, sort of a moral inverse of Dr. Watson, the right-hand that helps his superior (the governor, J. Edward Bromberg) to enact villainous schemes rather than solve them. This one sheet has undergone professional restoration to correct small chips in the top and right border, in the bottom right and left corner, and in the top left background. Touchup was also applied to the folds, and top left pinholes. Power is simply dashing on this one sheet, both with mask on or posing with co-star Linda Darnell, further solidifying this poster in a league all its own. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
