    Description

The Man in the White Suit (Ealing, 1951). Full-Bleed British Quad (30" X 40") S. John Woods and A.R. Thompson Artwork.
In this classic Ealing comedy, Alec Guinness stars as Sidney Stratton, a humble inventor who creates a cloth that never gets dirty and cannot be destroyed. He thinks this will be a great boon to humanity, but of course the garment industry goes ballistic and sets out to destroy him. Designer S. John Woods and artist A.R. Thompson provide the eye-catching artwork for this very scarce country-of-origin quad, which was used as the cover illustration of the British Film Institute's 1982 book Project Ealing. Never offered before at Heritage, this poster has had touchup to edge wear, minor chips, and and mild tears, a few pinholes, and some creases. There was a tear from the left edge to Joan Greenwood's credit, and there has been airbrushing along the edges. Very Fine-on Linen.
