DescriptionThe Man from Laramie (Columbia, 1955). Italian 4 - Fogli (54" X 77.5") Anselmo Ballester Artwork.
Based on a story by Thomas T. Flynn that first appeared in The Saturday Evening Post, this taut Western concerns Will Lockhart (James Stewart), a man obsessed with tracking down the outlaw that sold guns to the Apaches, guns that were used to kill his brother. Anthony Mann, the director of this gripping psychological drama with parallels to Shakespeare's King Lear, brings a very film noir feel to this Western (not surprising, as he also directed such noir classics as Desperate, T-Men, and Railroaded). Showcasing suspenseful artwork by Anselmo Ballester, this poster has had touchup to the folds with a few small tears and chips towards the top, scattered pinholes across part of the lower section, and some small tears in the borders. Very Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $1,200 - $2,400.
