    Description

The Lost World (First National, 1925). Window Card (14" X 22").
In 1925, Willis O'Brien and Harry O. Hoyt teamed up to bring the world of dinosaurs to the silent screen. The film was an adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's book and stars Wallace Beery as Professor Challenger who brings dinosaurs back to civilization where they run amuck as depicted on this wonderful window card. The film features the pioneering stop motion special effects by Willis O'Brien and obviously was a huge inspiration for the plot line of King Kong in 1933. The original movie posters for this film have always been scarce and very desirable due to its fantasy and science fiction-related story elements. This card was folded into quarters and had been trimmed just into the image on all four sides. There was a chip from the lower right corner that extended into the word "Picture." There was another chip just into the outer edge of the First National logo on the lower left and the white areas of the title have been restored. The poster has been restored to bring it back to all of its former glory and now displays beautifully! Very Good+ on Cardstock.
