    Description

The Lost World (First National, 1925). Very Fine- on Linen. Swedish Oversized Poster (38.5" X 45.25").
Horror and science fiction history fans alike know the story of this film well. Penned by Arthur Conan Doyle in 1912, this silent adaptation features pioneering stop motion special effects by Willis O'Brien, who would delight the world eight years later with his rampaging beasts in King Kong. The film also headlined an all-star cast, including such greats as Wallace Beery, Bessie Love, and Lewis Stone. Posters for this classic have always been very rare, and this is especially true for this oversized Swedish poster, a second time offering from Heritage. This stone litho beauty boasts a dynamic image of O'Brien's dinos going head to head, and has had conservation to fold wear, a few small border chips, and tears from the edges into the interior. There are two partially restored surface scratches in the credit area, and the upper image area has some scattered small paper lifts. No doubt, this piece is a fine opportunity for sci-fi collectors looking to expand their collections with quality posters. Very Fine- on Linen.
