    Description

The Lost Weekend (Paramount, 1946). French Grande (46.5" X 62.5") Boris Grinsson Artwork.
Lost Weekend was the Best Picture winner at the 1945 Academy Awards, and Ray Milland also took home an Oscar for his outstanding portrayal as the writer who ruins his life during a weekend bender. Based on the novel by Charles Jackson and directed by Billy Wilder, The Lost Weekend also won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay (Wilder, Charles Brackett). This wonderful French grande, featuring artwork by Boris Grinsson of the troubled alcoholic and Jane Wyman as his hopeful girlfriend, lends its bold brown and umber tones to the iconic film noir look. The poster shows edge and fold war, fold separations, mild creases, pinholes, and small tears. There is paper loss and chips in the borders and folds, mild surface rippling, and unobtrusive foxing. There is also cellophane tape at some of the folds on the verso. Folded, Fine+.

    Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
