    Description

The Lone Ranger (Republic, 1938). Cloth Banner (36" X 118").
Originally broadcast over the airwaves in 1933, radio episodes of the Lone Ranger captured the imaginations of many, and took the nation by storm. It wasn't long after that Republic Studios, the leading producer of serials at the time, would take notice. This very rare banner is from the first serial to feature the Masked Ranger and his faithful companion, Tonto. These banners were advertised in the pressbook and were sometimes called Five Color Marquee or Flash Banners. They were used by the theaters to leave hanging throughout the ten to fifteen week run of the serial and are generally very rare. There are grommets in the borders and the corners are folded back. Restoration has addressed creasing throughout. Some smudging, creases, light staining, and surface scuffing are still visible. Rolled, Fine.

    Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000.
