    Description

The Jazz Singer (Warner Brothers, 1927). Full-Bleed Swedish One Sheet (26.75" X 38.75") William Auerbach-Levy Artwork.
    .
As every movie fan knows, after twenty years of silent films,The Jazz Singer was the first full-length sound feature and it began the revolution of talking pictures. Produced by Warner Brothers with their Vitaphone sound process, Al Jolson, some scenes performed in black face, speaks and sings for the first time! His first words were prophetic -- "Wait a minute, wait a minute, you ain't heard nothin' yet." The production costs for the film were $422,000, a large sum for the financially strapped studio, but the picture was a hit, creating a world wide sensation, and virtually saving Warner Brothers. Making it's Heritage debut, this Swedish one sheet bears the iconic image of Jolson as his famous character and boasts an exceptionally clean interior. It shows little signs of handling with only slight edge wear and small tear by the bottom of the vertical fold. Folded, Very Fine+.
