The House of Fear (Universal, 1945). Folded, Fine. Insert (14" X 36").
This insert comes from the tenth big screen outing of Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective Sherlock Holmes starring Basil Rathbone as Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Doctor Watson. Based on The Adventure of the Five Orange Pips by Doyle, the picture was directed by Roy William Neill, who helmed many of the Rathbone/Bruce teamings. Not offered at Heritage in over a decade, this insert displays such signs of use as slight edge wear, fold wear and separations, small tears, and mild edge toning. There are unobtrusive stains in the borders, faint tape stains, and some paper loss in the upper right that extends into Nigel Bruce's image with a colored splice on the verso. The verso has strips of paper tape along the edges and folds.

    Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
