    Description

The Headless Horseman (Hodkinson Pictures, 1922). Rolled, Fine. One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A.
Cowboy star Will Rogers takes an unusual turn as Washington Irving's superstitious schoolmaster, Ichabod Crane, in the first screen adaptation of the gothic short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Joining him as Katrina Van Tassel is actress Lois Meredith in her last major screen appearance. Showcasing lovely stone litho printing, conservation to this poster has made corrections to tears and scratches into the interior, a few thin strips of horizontal paper loss in the figures and horse, and a large gouge near the middle crossfold. Repairs also addressed trims in the borders, which have been airbrushed. Noticeable restoration had been made to a chip in the left background.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
