    The Hayseed (Paramount, 1919). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
A sight rarely seen in Buster Keaton films, and even more rarely printed on paper, this little lobby shows that the Great Stone Face can indeed crack a smile. Keaton had only recently returned to the silver screen after a brief stint in the army during World War I, The Hayseed being his second comedic short with Fatty Arbuckle after his deployment. Also pictured is actress Molly Malone, who costarred with Keaton and Arbuckle in other two-reelers like Back Stage and The Garage. Needless to say, collectors of Silent Era memorabilia would be remiss to pass up this truly unique card. It's in exceptional condition, especially considering its one hundred years of age, only displaying a few pinholes and very faint stains in the borders. Very Fine.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
