DescriptionThe Glass Key (Paramount, 1942). Very Good on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Alan Ladd takes on the world of political corruption in this excellent film noir which is based on Dashiell Hammett's novel. As a loyal employee of a politician played by Brian Donlevy, Ladd watches as his boss backs a shady candidate and becomes entangled in murder and bribery. As he tries to clear his boss's name, Ladd falls for the corrupt candidate's daughter (Veronica Lake) and must tangle with his henchman played by William Bendix. A hard-boiled classic with wonderful dialogue, "My first wife was a second cook at a third-rate joint on Fourth Street." Restoration has addressed fold wear and separations, as well as chips in the borders and folds. There are horizontal creases, cracks, and tears, some of which are partially restored. The borders, some backgrounds, and upper left credits have been airbrushed. Very Good on Linen.
Estimate: $2,500 - $5,000.
