DescriptionThe Glass Key (Paramount, 1942). Very Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27.5" X 41").
For the film noir devotee, this is the poster to own! This "key motif" one sheet has superb portraits of the stars executed in blazing color, filled with scenes of action and a great rendering of the film's sultry leading lady. Based on the novel by Dashiell Hammett, this is a story of political corruption in the big city, starring the incendiary team of Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake. Already impressed by their palpable on-set chemistry, Paramount studios cast Ladd and Lake together for this Stuart Heisler film noir classic, even though the two were still in the process of filming This Gun for Hire. Light touchup has been applied to the middle crossfold. Signs of use include very minor fold separations, pinholes, as well as a thin cut at the very top of the image. Otherwise, the poster is in excellent condition and a consistently popular item at auction.
Estimate: $2,500 - $5,000.
