DescriptionThe Glass Key (Paramount, 1942). One Sheet (27" X 41").
For the film noir devotee, this is the poster to own! Veronica Lake peeks out from behind her trademark blond locks as drama unfolds all around, her co-stars locked in heated scuffles. Based on the novel by Dashiell Hammett, the picture also features Alan Ladd and Brian Donlevy, with William Bendix giving a scene-stealing performance as a brutal henchman. This "key motif" one sheet has superb portraits of the stars executed in blazing color, professionally touched up to correct wear at the folds, pinholes in the corners, a horizontal misfold at the bottom, and a couple of small border tears. There were a few very minor chips in the borders and crossfolds, and there was a mild tear from the left border into the green background. These have been rendered virtually imperceptible, leaving the viewer with nothing to distract from the poster's spectacular image. Very Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $2,500 - $5,000.
