    Description

    The Ghost of Frankenstein (Universal, 1948). First Release Post-War Japanese B2 (20" X 29").
This stellar Japanese poster boasts a superb image of Lon Chaney, Jr. as Frankenstein's Monster, and is sure to be a hit with horror film collectors. The Monster is on the loose again and this time he's being used in a diabolical plot by Ygor (Bela Lugosi, reprising the role from Son of Frankenstein) who wants his own brain transplanted into the Monster's strong body. This very rare poster was released between 1946 and 1948, the first two years of the MPEA (Motion Picture Export Association). The MPEA was set up in 1946 after the war ended to help spread the release of American-made movies in occupied Japan, both new releases and movies not released before the war. The MPEA seal is visible in the upper left of the poster. Only some vertical creasing near the top and small horizontal creases keep the poster from a higher grade. Rolled, Very Fine.
