DescriptionThe Gay Divorcee (RKO, 1934). Fine+. Lobby Cards (2) (11" X 14").
Legendary dancing partners Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers star in their second outing together, following their hit debut in Flying Down to Rio. The film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Art Direction, and Best Music. It would win for Best Song, "The Continental," the first picture to do so. Neither of these lobby cards have made an appearance at Heritage before this, with general wear between the cards including slight edge wear, pinholes, creases, and stains. The "Dinner" card has received partial touchup to staining in the image, a piece of tape in the upper border, a linen splice in the top left corner, and also has a minor unaddressed chip in the bottom left corner. Fine+.
Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
