    Vittorio de Sica's tragic look at the persecution of of Italian-Jewish families during World War II won the 1972 Academy Award for Best Foriegn Language Film. Its screenplay, based on Giorgio Bassani's novel of the same name, had also been nominated for an Oscar, and the picture is remembered among de Sica's best works. This goegeous country of origin poster has had light partial touchup to the folds, small tears, and minor chips. The poster has some mild unaddressed toning in the folds and a snipe next to Giorgio Basssani's credit.
