    Description

The Divorcee (MGM, 1930). Very Fine. Title Lobby Card & Lobby Cards (2) (11" X 14").
MGM star Norma Shearer was tired of the "society lady" or "good girl" roles she was getting. She decided she wanted to break out of that image, and boy, did she ever with this powerful performance, earning her a Best Actress Academy Award. As Jerry Martin, Shearer is blissfully married to Chester Morris, but on their anniversary she realizes he has cheated on her. Bristling at the double-standard for men and women of the era, she embarks on a revenge affair, leading to a spiral of divorce, empty romances, and heartbreak. In fantastic shape for their age, these cards have slight edge wear, small creases, pinholes, and minor nicks or tears. The cards also have faint unobtrusive stains, including minute rust stains. Very Fine.

    Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
