Description

    The Devil is a Woman (Paramount, 1935). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style A.
Paper on this title is extremely rare and for the first time Heritage is offering this striking Style A half sheet. Marlene Dietrich would team with her strongest director, Josef von Sternberg for the last time in The Devil is a Woman. Dietrich rose to fame after von Sternberg "discovered" her and cast her in the legendary film The Blue Angel. And together, they would go on to create some of the most intriguing and spectacular films of the 1930s. Dietrich is the alluring Concha, a Spanish courtesan who lures military officers with her wiles. Pictured here, draped dramatically in the arms of one of her Latin lover (Cesar Romero), Dietrich leaves no doubt who was Hollywood's ultimate femme fatale. Lionel Atwill turns in one of his best non-horror performances, and the film was honored for its outstanding cinematography. Minor signs of handling include pinholes in the borders, edge wear, light stains in the credits, small tears in the top border, a gouge in Dietrich's dress, and corner bends. Rolled, Fine+.
