DescriptionThe Devil is a Woman (Paramount, 1935). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. Pre-War Belgian (24" X 33").
Any posters for this title are extremely rare, and for only the second time Heritage is offering this magnificent pre-war Belgian bursting with color and allure. A long-standing muse of director Josef von Sternberg, Marlene Dietrich would team with him for the last time here, as a Spanish courtesan who lures military officers with her wiles. Lionel Atwill turns in one of his best non-horror performances, and this film left no doubt that Dietrich was, in fact, Hollywood's ultimate femme fatale. This wonderful poster has light edge creases, and pinholes in the borders. There is some mild surface rippling to the lower right and a tax stamp to the lower left. The printing in the imprint area and the text to the left of the image was professionally added by the theater after the poster's production. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
