Description

The Day the Earth Stood Still (20th Century Fox, 1951). Window Card (14" X 22").
A giant among sci-fi classics, paper from this title is highly coveted by collectors the world over. Considered to be among the top pictures released in 1951, Robert Wise's story wrapped the day's fears of atomic annihilation within an extraterrestrial tale, simultaneously giving a warning to the destructive nature of international hostilities while asserting that there is hope for a peaceful future. Not offered at Heritage for several years, this window card has touchup applied to a horizontal fold, creases, corner bends, and a paper lift at the bottom. Some of these issues are still somewhat visible. There has also been some touchup to the edges and upper imprint area. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
