    Description

The Curse of the Cat People (RKO, 1944). Very Fine-. Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
Producer Val Lewton, in charge of RKO's "horror unit" gave this mysterious ghost story to novice director Robert Wise, who in turn, created a moody and atmospheric film about a girl's lonely youth. Although it had little to do with the original Cat People, the studio felt they should market it as The Curse of the Cat People with art similar to the original film. Simone Simon returns as the ghost of Irena. General signs of handling found in these cards includes light edge wear, slight corner bends, and unobtrusive stains and smudges. One card has a printing irregularity in the lower image, another has a few minor tears with masking tape on the verso, and the title card has a bit of writing and a rust stain in the upper right corner.

    Estimate: $400 - $800.
