The Count of Monte Cristo (United Artists, 1934). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27.25" X 40.75"). From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Offered only once before by Heritage, this very rare, original release poster features Robert Donat as Edmond Dantes, in lush stone litho grandeur. Many attempts have been made to bring Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo to the big screen, but few versions are as enjoyable as this 1934 adaptation. Professionally restored, this poster no longer displays small fold separations, a few tears, pinholes, and some small chips. Also addressed was slight paper loss in the borders. The borders and some of the yellow background have had airbrush work. The poster displays wonderfully with vibrant colors.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
