    Description

The Count (Mutual, R-1925). Swedish One Sheet (22.5" X 35") Bjornberg Artwork.
The fifth of his twelve two-reel comedies shot during his stint at Mutual Studios, The Count comes from a series of shorts that are considered some of the best in his career, now known as The Golden Dozen. His contract with the studio made him one of the highest paid people in the world at $670,000 per year, well worth the sheer quality and popularity of the films he produced from 1916-1917. More importantly, Chaplin enjoyed a large degree of artistic freedom at Mutual that enabled him to produce some of his finest work. He later referred to his time there as the happiest point in his career. Presented for the first time ever at Heritage, this excellent Swedish poster features an excellent stone litho illustration by Bjornberg. Aside from some creasing from its original printing shows no other flaws. Folded, Very Fine+.

    Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
