Description

The Conquering Power (Metro, 1921). One Sheet (27" X 41").
An absolutely beautiful piece of film history! Rudolph Valentino and Mrs. Rex Ingram, Alice Terry, were quickly reunited after their big success in The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, which rocketed both to stardom, having been cast by the first female executive in American film, June Matthias. The relationship of Mathis and Valentino is the stuff of legends. She would be buried next to him, and indeed purchased his crypt for him when he died severely in debt. This is the first starring role for Valentino and this one sheet is the first on which he would be featured! Linenbacked by one of the top artisans with minimal restoration needed for just minor wear along the fold lines, and pinholes in the corners, and in the top corner image area. Fine+ on Linen.
