    Description

The Blue Dahlia (Paramount, 1946). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
The third picture to feature the dynamic film noir team of Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake, this murder mystery centers around the shady happenings at the titular nightclub, the Blue Dahlia. Famous pulp writer Raymond Chandler wrote the original screenplay under time pressure -- Ladd had been called up for military duty and production had to be stepped up considerably. Regardless of this, as well as a forced re-write of the ending at the behest of the studio and the US Navy, Chandler later received a nomination for the Best Original Screenplay Oscar. One of the most collected posters in the noir genre, there have been professional corrections to fold wear and separations, pinholes, and a few minor chips and tears. The poster had a slight trim along the lower border that has been replaced and the poster has partial airbrushing in the borders. Still visible are a couple of faint tape stains at the crossfolds.

    Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000.
