Description

The Black Room (Columbia, 1935). French Grande (46" X 63") Roger Vacher Artwork.
Boris Karloff, fresh from his appearances in Universal Studio's great horror successes signs with Columbia Studios to bring his frightening presence to their films. He takes on a dual role as twin brothers Anton and Gregor de Bergmann in this macabre gothic tale. In an ancient family curse, one brother is fated to die by the sword of the other brother in The Black Room. Anton takes over rule of their estate and becomes a hated and murderous despot, who falls for the fair Thea, played by the ethereal Marian Marsh. When the good Gregor returns after a long absence, the brothers' fates are sealed. This first time offer from Heritage shows edge wear with minor chips, a few mild fold separations and border tears, and small holes at the top. There is vertical staining with surface rippling in the borders and interior. Roger Vacher Artwork. Folded, Fine+.
