    Description

    The Big Heat (Columbia, 1953). Italian 4 - Foglio (55" X 78").
Fritz Lang, German creator of Metropolis and M fame, directs this dark and chilling crime drama that showcases Glenn Ford's tough guy image. Ford plays a cop who ruthlessly follows a twisting trail of mobsters, blackmail, bombs, and murder, regardless of the cost to those around him. The impressive supporting cast includes Gloria Grahame, Lee Marvin, and Jocelyn Brando. Italian artist Anselmo Ballester expertly captures the gritty essence of the film on this magnificent Italian 4-foglio, depicting Glenn Ford in a guarded pose with Grahame clinging to him for life and the malevolent Marvin leering in the upper left corner. Perhaps the most striking poster issued to promote the film and assuredly one of the most evocative Italian images produced for a film noir classic, this large format poster rarely turns up at auction. A Heritage first, the piece shows only fold wear with small tears and tape on the verso, two small tears in the bottom background, tape stains in the borders, edge wear, and pinholes in the border and background. Get this beautiful and large format poster while you can! Folded, Fine+.
