The Betrayal (Astor Pictures, 1948). Very Fine- on Paper. One Sheet (27.25" X 41").
After an eight year hiatus, director Oscar Micheaux made a return to moviemaking with the screen adaptation of his 1943 novel, The Wind from Nowhere. As one of the few prominent African American auteurs of the day, Micheaux's picture holds the distinction of being the first race film to have a Broadway premier. It's Heritage's second time to offer a one sheet for this picture, and this example is a rare secondary style. Although backed on linen, this poster has received no further restoration. Signs of handling include light edge and fold wear, slight fold separations, pinholes, and moderate tears. There are a couple of minor chips in the folds. Very Fine- on Paper.

    Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
