    Description

The Beloved Rogue (United Artists, 1927). Fine-. Insert (14" X 36").
Based upon the exploits of a famous French poet and villain, Francois Villon, John Barrymore became the perfect choice to play the role. Barrymore was famous himself for being a womanizer and his immense onscreen popularity made him a natural choice. John Barrymore, with his classic profile depicted here, stares lovingly at Marceline Day on this insert, that is styled like a tapestry in the background. He is also seen at the bottom, surrounded by an adoring group of ladies as he recites his poetry to them. This is the first time Heritage has offered this stunning insert. The insert has had restoration to address a long tear through John Barrymore and Marceline Day with a missing piece above them, vertical stains, pinholes, edge wear with tears, and stains. The borders have been airbrushed.

    Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
