Description

The Bell Boy (Paramount, 1918). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Buster Keaton, a young vaudevillian star, had a chance meeting with rising film star Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle in 1917 which led Arbuckle to take Keaton under his wing and begin a series of shorts with the young man as his protege. Their first film The Butcher Boy (1917) would lead to thirteen more before Keaton would break off into his own great stardom. This, their seventh short together is considered a classic and we are offering the one sheet to the title in this auction as well. This is the first card we have offered from the film and to picture both stars makes it incredibly rare. The card has ten pinholes around the border and a few into the border art and two within the image. There is some wear and bending to the corners but no restoration has been performed. Fine+.
