The Beatles' Rock n' Roll Music Volume 2 (Capitol Records, 1980). Mike Bryan Original Album Cover Art (24" X 24.5").
Mike Bryan is the artist responsible for such well known movie posters as RoboCop, Scarface, Platoon, and others. He designed this iconic image of the Beatles as they looked when they first arrived in America for the single LP reissue of the second half of the compilation double album The Beatles' Rock 'n Roll Music, which was originally issued in 1976 with a basically inappropriate "1950s Nostalgia" styled cover. For this reissue, Bryan was given access to the Capitol Records photo archives, and he chose four separate images of John, Paul, George, and Ringo, circa 1964, montaging them with various other people milling in the background. To create the finished art, Bryan painted directly on printed "brownline" images. For the Beatles' faces, he freehanded the images, as the brownline photo montage did not come out too clearly in this area. The final finished piece is in mixed media on mounted paper. The actual art measures approximately of 20.25" x 20". Other than a few minor contact marks and handling, the art is in excellent condition. Very Fine+.
