DescriptionThe Baroness and the Butler (20th Century Fox, 1938). Fine+ on Linen. Full-Bleed Silk Screen Poster (40" X 60").
This beautiful example of silk screen printing is an exceptionally rare find at auction, as many 40" X 60" posters from the 1930s have succumbed to fragility and the passage of time. Using an Art Deco motif with lovely images of stars William Powell and Annabella, this poster now looks incredible after professional restoration to pinholes, creases, surface scuffs and scratches, and a couple of tears. There were chips in three corners and some chipping along the left edge. This is an amazing opportunity to acquire a truly wonderful poster.
Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
