Description

The 1941 Theatre Catalog (Jay Emanuel, 1941). Hardbound Exhibitor Theatre Catalog (338 Pages, 10" X 12.5"). Miscellaneous.
This is simply the most unique book you'll ever see about movie theatres before 1942. This is #1711 out of a print run of only 2500. It was not sold, but delivered to theatre owners, architects, and financial institutions that made loans for construction. This particular copy was sent to the Lyric Theatre in Lima, Ohio, and comes with a cover letter and a small certificate with the copy number. There is not a single facet of theatre management, ownership, or design that is not extensively covered in this book. There are literally hundreds of photographs of existing theatres (now mostly gone), ads for everything from seating, bookkeeping systems, air conditioning, marquee letters, projectors, etc. An unrestored hardbound catalog with good color. The spine is loose from the actual catalog, but all the pages are in excellent condition and completely bound together. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Fine+.
