That Hamilton Woman (London Film, 1945). Folded, Fine. First Post-War Release French Grande (39" X 59").
This fictionalized account of the real-life romance between Lady Hamilton (Vivien Leigh) and Admiral Horatio Nelson (Laurence Olivier) was a natural for the real-life married couple. The story is set during the Napoleonic Wars and this brilliant poster displays their incredible portraits over the war on the high seas commanded by Olivier's Nelson. Olivier and Leigh had appeared together once before in Fire Over England and so were declared perfect for this true-to-life story. There is edge and fold wear, slight fold separation, mild creases, and pinholes. Also present are small chips and tears, faint toning in the folds, and staining. Though the poster is shorter than typical French grande dimensions, we believe it may have been produced this way due to post-war paper shortages as the does not appear to be trimmed.

    Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
