DescriptionTest Pilot (MGM, 1938). Folded, Very Fine-. One Sheet (27" X 41") Style D. From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Never before offered by Heritage, this style D one sheet could once be found at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Grand Lobby Gallery. MGM brought out its top star power for this high flying adventure directed by Victor Fleming. Clark Gable plays a hard drinking daredevil test pilot who needs his steady mechanic (Spencer Tracy) to keep him in line. Myrna Loy and Lionel Barrymore also bring in top performances. The poster displays minor fold separations, pinholes, minute tears, as well as unobtrusive stains and smudges. There are pieces of cellophane tape and mending tissue on the verso bracing the folds.
Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
