Prolific Italian artist Anselmo Ballester created the beautiful artwork for this 4-fogli from the Italian release of director Rowland V. Lee's 1935 adaptation of The Three Musketeers, offered here for the first time at Heritage and believed to be the only known surviving copy. The film stars Walter Abel as d'Artagnan and Heather Angel as Constance (both pictured on the poster in vivid oranges and yellows), as well as Paul Lukas, Moroni Olsen, and Onslow Stevens as the three musketeers, and Ian Keith as the dastardly Count de Rochefort. Prior to restoration, the poster displayed edge and fold wear, creases, pinholes, fold separations, and tears. There was missing paper in the borders as well as some missing paper in the face and neck areas of Heather Angel's image. There was also a bit of missing paper in the title, but restoration has beautifully addressed these issues.
