    Description

The Mark of Zorro (United Artists, 1920). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). The incredibly athletic Douglas Fairbanks stars as the first Zorro of the silver screen in this silent masterpiece. This feature began Hollywood's love affair with the now familiar story of the Big Z fighting an oppressive colonial government in old California using only his wits and the flash of a sword. More importantly, because it was such an enormous box office success, it became the great grandfather of most Hollywood action films made since. For all of you trivia buffs, see if you can find two Tinseltown legends who make cameo appearances as village children. Look carefully and you'll see Noah Berry and Milton Berle. The lobby card is a lovely hand-tinted action piece. It's very clean with little apparent wear. Very Fine+
