    Description

The Black Pirate (United Artists, 1926). Lobby Card (10" X 13"). Swashbuckler.
The Black Pirate was only the third feature to be filmed in the early two strip Technicolor process and this original lobby card issued by United Artists reflects the pleasing range of colors excellently. Lobby cards from this title have one of the best layouts of any silent lobbies. The main photo is inset within the pirate ship and a completely separate photo from a different scene in the film is on either the left or right side. Starring Douglas Fairbanks, Billie Dove, Tempe Pigott, Donald Crisp, Sam De Grasse, Anders Randolf, Charles Stevens, Charles Belcher, Mary Pickford. Directed by Albert Parker. An unrestored card that has been trimmed of the borders, but none of the art is affected. Any competent restorer could easily replace the white borders. There are pinholes in the center field, and mild edge wear. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Very Good-.
