Description

The Adventures of Robin Hood (Warner Bros., 1938). Very Fine on Linen. Other Company Three Sheet (41" X 77.5").
In one of the greatest adaptations of a folktale ever projected onto the silver screen, Errol Flynn's landmark performance as the Prince of Thieves cemented his place as a reigning king of adventure, defining his career more so than any other role before or since. An excellent choice for Warner Bros. as their first big-budget picture in glorious Technicolor, this grand swashbuckler has become the stuff of movie legend with its perfect blend of action, romance, humor, and drama. The excellent performances of Olivia de Havilland as the radiant Maid Marian, Basil Rathbone as the aristocratic Sir Guy of Gisbourne, and Claude Rains as the conniving Prince John further bolster this already impressive production, and perfectly compliment Flynn's swaggering take on the famous thief. Heritage is extremely proud to offer for the first time this very rare other company three sheet for the film. With totally different artwork than any studio release poster, it has a beautiful romantic depiction of Flynn and de Havilland above, Rathbone and Flynn dueling below. This would be a fantastic addition to any serious poster collection! Prior to restoration, the poster had fold wear. Touchup has been done to the folds, titles and borders and the linen has been trimmed to the border.
