DescriptionSuperman (Columbia, 1948). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27.25" X 41.25"). Chapter 15 -- "The Payoff."
Although Superman, that strange visitor from another planet who came to Earth with powers superior to those of mortal men, was a star of comic books, newspaper strips, and animated cartoons, by 1948 he had never appeared in a live action film. That all changed when the energetic and charismatic Kirk Alyn brought him to life on the big screen in the form of a serial. Superman would go on to become one of Columbia's biggest successes, and spawned not only the inevitable sequel, but the popular TV series as well. This highly collectible poster has been repaired to address fold wear and separations, pinholes, moderate tears, and small chips. A chip has been reattached in the upper right corner.
Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000.
