DescriptionSuperman and the Mole Men (Lippert, 1951). Silk Screen Banner (24" X 84").
After two successful serials, the Man of Steel was recruited into his first feature film, with George Reeves replacing Kirk Alyn in the title role. Superman and the Mole Men served as a hugely successful de facto pilot for the TV series that followed, and in fact was eventually edited down and broadcast as a two-part episode of the series. It's a rare sight to see any silk screen banners in as good a shape as this, considering many saw heavy use in outdoor displays, and this is the first time Heritage has offered one for this superhero classic. The banner shows slight edge wear, light creases, a minor paper lift in the background, and a few small cracks in the printing. There is faint staining in the lower border and a few thin surface scuffs in the image. Rolled, Very Fine.
Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
