    Description

    Sullivan's Travels (Paramount, 1947). Folded, Very Fine. First Post-War Release Belgian (14" X 21.75").
Disgusted with the fluffy comedies that have made him the hottest director in Hollywood, Joel McCrea (John L. Sullivan) goes undercover as a tramp in middle America, trying to reconnect with everyday folk, in hopes of making a "serious" film. At first the studio tries to pass off this sojourn as a publicity stunt, but McCrea escapes their influence, and eventually hooks up with a down-on-her-luck actress (Veronica Lake at her most luminous). Widely regarded as director Preston Sturges' finest film, this classic movie is beautifully represented on this Belgian poster, a first time release for Heritage. It shows fold wear, an extra fold at the imprint area, pinholes, creasing at the top border, and light edge wear with small tears.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
